Sciatica and lower back pain are the most common symptoms of musculoskeletal origin. They can occur at all ages. According to statistics, 50% of the population of Western countries suffers from sciatica and lower back pain, according to World Health Organization (WHO), but the population in Israel is not immune to this phenomenon.
Lower back pain is a common disorder involving the muscles and bones of the back. Why? Because the lumbar vertebrae support a major part of our body weight and, as a consequence, are particularly fragile.
Sciatica is a sharp pain located in the back of the legs. The pain first reaches buttocks and thighs and often extends to feet. Generally, the pain affects one side of the body.
Sciatica and lower back pain can be caused by several factors:
1. Excessive physical activity
2. Pregnancy and childbirth
3. Overwork
Chinese medicine also refers to cold and humidity invasion as a possible factor.
Acupuncture and acupressure give excellent results in the treatment of these problems and offer rapid and lasting improvements.
