Chinese herbology or medicinal plants

Chinese herbology – also called Chinese herbal medicine and Chinese materia medica – are known and used for their incredible beneficial properties and are the jewel of Chinese medicine. They are a particular specialty, mainly consisting of plants but, also in some cases, animal or mineral-derived products.

They contain a total of over 5,000 medicinal substances, of which about 400 are commonly used in modern Chinese medicine. Nowadays, Chinese herbs are a precious and valuable treatment provided by nature.

What are the different uses of these plants?

Hydroalcologlycerin extracts, the plant is macerated a few days in a mixture of water, alcohol and glycerin, which allows the activation of therapeutic agents.
Essential oils: usually they are made from wild plants and no additives are used. They are used like a fragrance. This medical use is called aromatherapy.
Flower essences, known to treat emotional states have a positive action on psychic.

How does a Chinese herbology session work?

Like an acupuncture session, Hillel Ouaknin initially starts with a thorough check-up of your medical condition. Then, he composes an individualized formula specifically designed for you that can contain up to twenty different medicinal substances. These treatments can be taken in the form that suits you best (decoctions, granules, tablets or capsules). Chinese herbs formulas prepared in advance also exist in the form of tablets to treat general problems such as allergy, cold and flu. A Chinese herbology consultation lasts from 30 to 60 minutes.
